Parting words from the senior staff of The News Argus, Sports Editor
This has been a tremendous journey, both at WSSU and with The News Argus.
I have to first and foremost thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all of the countless blessings he has bestowed upon me, including the opportunity to attend school here.
I also have to thank my family and friends for their endless support.
I have an endless amount of memories with my classmates and my instructors. I am extremely grateful to have established a relationship with each of you.
I have to also send a special thanks to all of my sources. Thank you for your cooperation and your willingness to promptly answer my penetrating questions and for respecting my deadlines. This is especially the case to all the athletes and coaches I have spoken with at WSSU.
To my classmates and peers, I appreciate the laughs and all of your help. You have been a big influence and of great assistance to me also. There are several of you who are so talented and so passionate about your lines of work, and I know that you all will do well in your future endeavors. I wish you the best of luck and please keep in touch. Also know that I will be happy to help you in any way that I can. Just let me know.
To the Argus staff and contributors, thank you as well. We did it! We were small in quantity, but huge in quality. Our hard work paid off with wonderful products biweekly that the students and community could rely on as well as receiving several awards.
And last but not least, to all my instructors, thank you so much for your guidance, patience, and diligence in assisting me during my collegiate career. There are two instructors who I must thank individually.
To Mrs. Elizabeth Clark, the former adviser of the Argus, who is now in Texas, you encouraged me to be heavily involved with the Argus. I followed your directions, and I went from a contributing reporter to the sports editor. Your encouragement is priceless to me because it opened up an array of opportunities and networking that I wouldn't have without you.
To Dr. Lona D. Cobb, the current adviser of the Argus, you continued what Mrs. Clark started and knocked it out of this stratosphere. I have won awards that look impressive on my resume, and thanks to you, I have also been able to meet me some fantastic people en route.
You have placed an amazing platform before me and I can not wait to begin my post-graduate career.
I also thank the both of you for the wonderful letters of recommendation to the different places I have applied. I will do my best to not disappoint you in my attempts to be successful in the world of sports.
WSSU and The News Argus will always be near and dear to my heart.
I will forever cherish the memories and the experience that I had.
Thank you all!
