I have always been involved in teaching in some capacity or another. A graduate of Appalachian State University in 1974, I received a BS degree in Biology and Secondary Education. I then received a Bachelor of Religious Education degree in 1985 from what is now Piedmont International University in Winston-Salem; formerly known as Piedmont Bible College. At Piedmont I received training in teaching reading and math on the elementary level.
