I studied psychology and clinical laboratory science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - Go Tar Heels!! During my time at UNC I focused primarily on psychology for my first two years. After studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain, I wasn't quite ready to graduate yet and so I pursued another major in clinical laboratory science. I rapidly became interested in microbiology, and developed a fascination with bacteria and molecular genetics of bacteria.
