Argus wins 3 awards in national competition

 The News Argus ​won three awards at 16th annual National HBCU Student Media News Conference Feb. 6-9 in Houston, Texas.  First Place for Best Online Multimedia Package (Chelsea Burwell, editor-in-chief;   Second Place for Best Informational Graphic or News Illustration; and Third Place for Best Non-Sports Feature (Da'Yona Mclean, copy desk chief). 
 
Winston-Salem State alum ​Stephen A. Smith was the  guest speaker at the event hosted by Praire View A&M University.  Approximately 50 students journalists from eight HBCUs were present.​
