Art seniors forced to exhibit in Fine Arts

Fine arts majors at Winston-Salem State have one common goal - to exhibit their art in Diggs Gallery at the end of their senior year.
Unfortunately, this year's graduating art majors won't be able to accomplish this feat.
Fine arts majors are required to show their work in the senior exhibition to graduate.But due to renovations of Digge Gallery, the senior art exhbition, which takes place during spring semester every year, will not be held there this year.
Jennifer Curtis, senior computer graphics and animation major from Fayetteville, said the renovations have caused major setbacks for the 18 graduating fine arts majors.
"The [exhibition] is what we've been looking forward to because most of us have never shown in a gallery before," Curtis said.
She is preparing to show projections of graphic animations as part of her exhibit.
Curtis said the exhibition will be moved to the Fine Arts Building, a major downgrade in comparison to the 7,200-square-foot gallery where it usually takes place
Leo Morrissey, a art professor, said there were no other location options for the senior exhibit in such a short amount of time.
