Direct Support Professionals Needed

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are independent contractors who provide services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. DDR, Inc. is always seeking qualified people to train to work one-on-one as DSPs with the individuals we serve. The nature of the services we provide make it such that our DSPs have quite a bit of flexibility to determine their schedules and how frequently they wish to work. This is a great option for both full-time and part-time work.Currently we are specifically seeking :1. Someone to work one-on-one with a 14 year old male with autism every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) from 8am - 5pm and as needed for back-up. The right candidate will have some experience with people with autism and will be willing to provide engaging play, take stroller walks, play outside and maintain a safe environment. They should also be physically fit and strong, not alarmed by aggressive behavior/meltdowns. They should be willing to change pull-ups and provide personal care (showering, dressing, etc.). Reliable person needed to establish long-term relationship with family. Other Requirements: High School Diploma, Reliable Transportation, Non-Smoker, Comfortable with Pets.2. Someone to work with a 17 year old male. The family would prefer a young female (but anyone with interest should apply) with internet knowledge who will take the person served out to the mall, movies and events. The family will pay for entry fees to these outings. They need someone who can be available every other weekend both Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 8pm. The family has indicated that they would like for the DSP to take the lead, learn what their son likes to do and plan activities. They live in the Steele Creek area.
