I almost forgot about homecoming this year, or it could be that nothing going on during the week really caught my attention.
Because of the lack of promotion, I did not know it was homecoming until I saw workers putting up decorations.
I hate when WSSU students compare our homecoming to other universities.
Students say things like “A&T is having this person at homecoming.” Who cares who A&T has for homecoming? You attend Winston-Salem State University.
Have some school spirit and take pride in WSSU by supporting school events. SGA is doing everything in its power to make homecoming a fun-filled event with their budget.
If we lose money by students not supporting events then we will never have a good homecoming.
WSSU can probably arrange for better entertainment but that could lead to a tuition increase, something we know would not be a popular decision.
I am a senior, and I am focusing on graduation. Homecoming is not my priority. My sister told me that I will appreciate homecoming when I graduate.
I hope that she is telling me the truth.
