In conjunction with Black History Month, Alltel Wireless and Dr. Maya Angelou are proud to present the Words of Wisdom Scholarship Program.
This scholarship, awarded to 10 Grand Prize winners attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), includes a $4,000 tuition check and a trip to Little Rock, Ark. to meet world renowned poet and author Dr. Maya Angelou.
This is high school seniors as well as students at HBCUs unique opportunity to have their voices heard and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Dr. Angelou. The essay, which asks the question, “What words of wisdom will you pass on to those who come after you?” is available on-line or at any participating Alltel stores.
