UNC in WASHINGTON INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

UNC in Washington has a primary goal of providing upper-level students from the 16 UNC campuses the experience of working and studying in the Nation’s Capitol. Students may work with Congress or the Executive Branch of the government, think tanks and other interest groups. The program also includes 3 hours per week in an academic seminar, the Washington Experience.

The deadline for participating in the Spring 2006 UNC in Washington class is October 3rd. Please contact Helene Cameron for more details and how students can apply.

The assistance ranges providing guidance on college admissions and financial aid to juniors, seniors and their parents at Carver and Parkland High Schools to participating in reading, mentoring and career planning programs at Diggs, Forest Park, Ashley, Kimberly Park, Petree and other elementary schools.

Plans are being developed to address specific needs at these schools. Please be prepared to share your expertise and knowledge with these students as these special programs and activities are established. Our work with these students can make a difference that will have huge benefits for all in the future. Let’s make it happen.
