Football Team receives honors, rewards
Head Football Coach Connell Maynor is the CIAA Coach of the Year.
Maynor, who led the team to an undefeated record this season, won the award in his second season. He has an 18-2 overall record as the leader of the Rams and is coaching in his first CIAA championship game on Nov. 12.
Maynor is not the only Ram to win postseason awards. Defensive back Alton Keaton and Wide Receiver Dominique Fitzgerald were post season award winners as well.
Keaton won Defensive Player of the Year and Fitzgerald won Special Teams Player of the Year.
My Prediction:
The Rams played poorly in their Sept. 3 match-up with Elizabeth City State but that could have been them just working out the kinks because it was their first game. I see the Rams running away with this one.
