Name WSSU’s QEP, win $200 cash prize

QEP what?

The $200 prize sounds good, but how can I name what I don’t know!

QEP is short for Quality Enhancement Plan, part of Winston-Salem State’s accreditation process that will take place during this academic year.

Students will get a chance to give the plan a more user-friendly-name in a contest that offers a $200 cash prize.

The contest will run through Oct. 7.

Any undergraduate student can submit a name or slogan to describe the QEP, designed to improve the writing proficiency of all majors, focusing on juniors and seniors.

Every 10 years, WSSU and other educational institutions in the southeast are evaluated by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to earn or reaffirm their accreditations. SACS evaluates every aspect of the university to ensure that programs, faculty, resources, services, operations, policies and procedures comply with standards established by its Commission on Colleges, comprised of presidents or chancellors of member colleges and universities.

The QEP is an essential part of the process that focuses on improving student learning.

We need your ideas and input. A former student suggested “Right to Write”; a faculty submitted “Rams Write.”

Simply send your slogan describing the QEP Writing in the Major Project, along with a brief comment on its significance, to mccarterm@wssu.edu by Oct. 7. Include your name, classification, email address, and telephone number. All submissions will be time-stamped in the event that two or more students submit the winning slogan.

The first winning submission will win. Enter today!
