I would like to commend you on your excellent editorial by Stephanie Douthit and the informative piece on the campus police not posting the blotter as required [April 14 issue].
This is what I have been waiting to see from the News Argus, and I would like to encourage you to continue to press the blotter issue until the campus police begin to take care of the issue. And I would like to say that I understand and agree with Ms. Douthit’s frustration about the conduct of some our students at WSSU.
As a nontraditional student, it bothers me to no end to see the disrespect that too many students show to their fellow students and our professors. Chronic tardiness, sleeping in class, leaving unannounced, and generally acting in an unprofessional manner are behaviors that not only reflect poorly on the individual student, but on the entire WSSU community.
We have to realize that this is OUR school. WE are the representatives that people know when they think of WSSU, and we have a sacred responsibility to represent this university as a place of the highest quality at all times. Again, thank you for the excellent work and just know that it is appreciated.
