Nontraditional Adult Student Organization was founded in 1999 as an advocacy for adult students over the age of 25 to ensure the best service and to help non-traditional students. NASO meets once a month.
Steve Jeffries is president of the organization and also Mr. NASO. Jeffries, a senior political science major, said his goal is to bridge the gap between traditional and non-traditional students at WSSU.
Other NASO officers are Sandra Williams, vice president, Alicia West, secretary and Doris Evans, treasurer.
Ms. NASO, Kimberly Shouse, a senior sociology major, has been with the organization for three years. She says she would like for NASO to become more visible and to mingle more with traditional students.
