STAFF REPORTWelcome back for Fall 2004! As you begin the new semester, please spend some time learning about the programs and events that we have planned for you in the Office of Career Services. We have workshops, employer visits, career fairs, job postings, print and web resources, and other services to help you with all phases of your career planning. This calendar will be a vital resource for you throughout the year, so bookmark the site and check it frequently. Winston-Salem State University Office of Career Services offer a number of fairs each year, all with the goal of helping recruiters meet some of the best and brightest candidates WSSU has to offer. Organizations offering internships, co-ops or other career opportunities will participate. Students are encouraged to bring several copies of a well-prepared resume- the job seeker’s marketing tool, for distribution to the recruiters. Business attire is required for students attending the Career and Cooperative Education Fair. Upcoming Fairs this semester include: Graduate & Professional Schools Day Fair , Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Thompson Student Services Center. In order to get a jumpstart in the graduate school application experience, exploring graduate schools is especially important for sophomores and juniors. Graduate schools and programs from around the country will be present to provide information about their schools. The Health and Human Services Fair will take place on Monday, Nov. 15 in the Albert H. Anderson Center. This fair is designed for students majoring in health related majors and majors that are associated with human services and wellness (Therapeutic Recreation, Exercise Science, Social Welfare/Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Studies, Social Work, Sociology and Gerontology). Get on “Trak” with RAMTrak. RAMTrak is an online application designed for WINSTON-SALEM STATE UNIVIERSITY students and alumni who are interested in full-time and part-time positions, internships and co-ops. Career-related information and resources are also available on the RAMTrak site.
